July 2025 Update
Tackling Destitution Together (TDT) Pilot
July marked an important milestone as the Tackling Destitution Together (TDT) Pilot completed its first quarter. Hubs have now been set up across Anglesey, offering advice and signposting to people who need help before they reach crisis point.
Weβre also delighted to welcome Scott, our new Project Coordinator for the pilot. With only five pilots running across the UK β and ours the only one in Wales β this is an exciting opportunity to work alongside partners such as Ynys MΓ΄n Citizens Advice and the Trussell Trust to make a real difference.
Summer Holidays Support
With the school holidays under way, we were able to supply 71.2 kg of fruit to summer clubs at:
- Ysgol Llanfawr, Holyhead
- Ysgol Santes Dwynwen, Newborough
- Ysgol Y Graig, Llangefni
- Ysgol Gyfun Llangefni
In addition, we distributed surplus fruit and veg throughout the month:
- π¦ 282.7 kg to schools & summer clubs
- π¦ 16.5 kg to The Refuge
- π¦ 101.9 kg to local community projects
Healthy snacks help children stay fuelled and families feel supported during the long break.

Highlights of the Month
- π Morrisons Food Drive β Thanks to Rachel for organising another food drive at Morrisons, Holyhead. In July, it brought in 50.2 kg of food supplies along with cash donations.
- ποΈ Fitness with Foxy β A huge diolch to the energetic keep-fit class who donated 30.7 kg of food. Once a month, class members bring along a tin or packet for the food bank. Your generosity keeps us going!
Whatβs Been Happening
- π¦ 156 vouchers fulfilled, supporting 314 people, including 121 children
- π 20 new households registered who had never used the food bank before
We Need Your Help β Survey
Over the past four months weβve served 388 unique households. Encouragingly, 64% only needed one emergency food parcel.
We want to understand why some households need short-term help while others face longer-term difficulties. This will help us shape our services and provide more effective support.
π Please take a few minutes to complete our survey here:

Letβs work together to put an end to the unnecessary need for food parcels.
